That's a Wrap! PDF Print E-mail

Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor is an amazing village in the Vale of the White Horse near Oxford that has recently finished shooting a feature film. The Husband Obedience Trials is a full length romantic comedy written and directed by Guy Browning with the locations, the organisation, some of the finance and many of the parts supplied by members of the community.

The project attracted lots of news coverage during the filming which can all be seen in the "News" and "What the Press Are Saying" sections to the left. Meanwhile the film is busy being edited at Fullrange in Birmingham while the marketing team continue their work on developing the sales package and taking the film to market.

Making any film is a major logistical exercise.  Most of the activity takes place behind the camera, preparing the shots, making the costumes, finding the locations, keeping everyone well fed and the whole crew and cast happy and informed at all times.  When we set out to make this film we knew we couldn't afford professionals to do all this for us. That's why we're using the wealth of talent in the village to help us with many of these critical jobs.  A huge amount of unpaid voluntary labour is required which is why the village has a Golden Share in the film. When the film is sold and distributed and starts to make money, the village will earn too courtesy of this Golden Share.   Then, when the time comes, everyone who has helped in the village will decide where the money goes - to the pre-School, a minibus, tennis court or maybe just a colossal party.

Just our kind of sponsors PDF Print E-mail

The kind people at Garden Games who provide trampolines and climbing frames heard about the project only recently and wanted to come on board to support us. Luckily, we were still looking for someone to help us with the wrap party so they have kindly sponsored the bar along with our existing sponsors Greene King who have provided the beer!

A Big Thank You from all the crew, cast and villagers to Garden Games!
